Some may remember a recent review I did on the Fury HD range finding binoculars with 1600 yard ranging capability. Well, the good news is Vortex recently released their new Vortex Fury HD 5000 binoculars with a staggering 5000-yard range capability and minimum range of just 5 yards, which is ideal particularly for bow hunters. Of roof prism design and almost identical in looks to its predecessor these new binoculars feature right side button controls for easy one handed use when ranging.

Available in 10 x 42, the new Fury HD 5000’s feature a HD optical system optimised with select glass elements to deliver exceptional resolution, edge-to- edge sharpness and true colour fidelity. Next, their XR premium lens coatings cut chromatic aberration and provide exceptional clarity, while left eye dioptre adjustment ensures maximum sharpness in both eyes. Other features include HCD (horizontal component distance) for angled compensation ranging, LOS (line of sight mode), Scan mode for continual distance reading on moving targets and the choice of ranging in feet or metres.

Rubber armoured and Nitrogen purged, these stylish, well made binoculars are shock, fog and waterproof with loads more features. Like all Vortex products purchased in Australia and New Zealand, the Fury HD 5000’s are covered by the Vortex VIP Warranty and that’s an unlimited lifetime warranty.
