Nick has worked up loads for a stack of new hotshot rifle cartridges which feature in his new manual, like the 26 Nosler.

Nick Harvey’s Practical Reloading Manual 11th Edition

Nick Harvey's Practical Reloading Manual holds a wealth of information for beginner and experienced handloaders alike.

This new, expanded 370-page iteration of Nick’s Manual covers most of the new hotshot rifle cartridges on the market, including the .224 Valkyrie, 6mm Creedmoor, 6.5 Waetherby RPM, 6.5-300 Weatherby magnum, .300 PRC, .300 AAC Blackout, 26, 27, 30 and 33 Noslers and the .350 Legend, all of which he has exhaustrively developed real-world loads for.

This alone is reason enough, but if you are a pistol shooter, the inclusion of the Alliant Powder Company’s handgun reloading data is a welcome addition for pistoleros among us.

And for the person who is starting or part way along the handloading journey, Nick’s advice on safety, different sizing methods, charging, priming and die adjustment etc are basics that are hard to learn piecemeal online. His chapter on headspace, supplementary gauges and instruments for the handloader send the newly immersed handloader down the path to better accuracy and consistency in their ammunition, while troubleshooting your handloads and recognising varying levels of pressure with a combination of methods is essential information for those who skate near maximum loads.

His Bush Ballistics and Point Blank Range Tables chapter is invaluable for the 95 percent of hunters who will never pull the trigger on an animal past 400 yards, allowing them to use this commonsense concept in practice and is a revelation in the field, despite being little understood amongst many hunters.

The beauty of Nick’s data, which carries the warning on every page to work carefully up to maximum loads, is that it gathers together in one manual the load data from several different powder manufacturers. When particular powder brands are in short or non-existent supply, available alternatives can suffice.

Ask for NicK’s 11th Edition is distributed by Cleaver Firearms and available in many local gun shops. RRP $59.00 is well spent.
