TNT has informed all of its firearms dealer and distributor network in Australia that it will cease moving firearms, ammunition and associated products. The letter, dated 8th July 2021, informs dealers that operations will cease on 16th August 2021. They have given the industry barely one month to process this and attempt to put in place alternative arrangements.

Sporting Shooter sought comment from a prominent Sydney dealership, Safari Firearms, to give their view.

This move by TNT was unforeseen and came with very little warning. This means the whole industry has very little time to make alternative-replacement arrangements. The one positive from this is that an enterprising, well-resourced business entity or consortium which supports firearms owners and businesses will stand to make good sustainable profits from this situation in the mid to long term.
