Sambar Stag Hunt

When I first saw this video, I was mighty impressed with this young hunter, who has learned his craft well. He is thoroughly rapt in the hunt, is emotional to the point of bursting at shooting his first sambar stag in what looks like difficult country to spot them. He had passed up two fallow bucks in the pursuit of this aged regressing stag who had survived the ravages of time and eluded hunters all his life.

This video shows us the type of young, keen hunters who are taking the hunting life and our hunting heritage through into the future. If all hunters display these attitudes, willingness to learn and apply hard lessons and take careful shots, then the Australian hunting culture’s future is assured.
