Mike Cleary gets out a lot. Recently he was tasked by Australian Hunters International Hunting Club to harvest some meat for a coming meeting and function at theie headquarters at the Polish Club on Sydney. This spiker is one of several he collected on a recent cold weather hunt in the NSW Central west. mate, that hat is a classic!
If you have images of anything hunting or shooting related you wish to submit, like animals you have decked, cleaning your gun or even handloading in the shed, sharing it with other hunters will help keep us all motivated to get back to normal ASAP. We may not be able to buy all we would normally, but getting back to a simpler, more fundamentally focussed existence may help us to become better versions of ourselves. Let's look after others where we can, as well as ourselves.
An interesting aside is that during the catastrophic 1918 Spanish Flu Pandemic, those in Australia who were hospitalised in makeshift tent hospitals outdoors recovered at significantly higher rates and better than those inside hospital buildings. Fresh air and sunlight are most important for everybody's health.
Meantime, Web Editor Gibbo has penned a truly awesome article on just getting out and doing your best in tough times. Throughout this time, we at Sporting Shooter wish you all the best and that we all come out the other end stronger so we can build a better Australia for the people we all love, protect and respect.
Keep your perspective, keep aware, but do not stay glued 24-7 to bulletins with sensationalised media reporting - watch comedies, quality TV or Streaming services and plug away at some of those little projects you have had on the backburner. By staying positive and optimistic, your immunity will be better and you will come through better.
Check out this lovely photo of Gbbo and his greatlittle daughter on a hunt just last week. A sight to make anyone feel good, for sure.
Incidentally, I have a big box full of Ridgeline prizes in the office, so when I can get back there, you lucky winners will not be short changed. Thankyou again to Ridgeline Australia for supporting us right through - they are good people.
More entries will build up in the library through the course of the comp.
Well done to all of you and thanks for the entries
We have changed the prize lineup courtesy of Ridgeline, with a new knife and the Ridgeline Tru-Shot Backpack and the good old Ridgeline Haul All Bumbag and Meatsafe, which I regularly use in the field. It has proven most satisfactory, durable and a great expedient field rest due to its design.
