Kahles has released an exciting new pair of binoculars for 2021 referred to as the HELIA S 42 in the choice of 8 or 10 x 42mm. Made in Austria, they are of roof prism design with straight tube and perfect for all-round hunting. Featuring a magnesium housing, these binoculars are rubber coated and finished in Kahles brown with an orange stripe down the front centre of each tube. They also come complete with neck strap and front and rear ocular and objective covers. Nitrogen purged making them water proof, the Helia S42’s offer powerful, high contrast with exceptional edge to edge sharpness and wide field of view.

Although at the time of writing I hadn’t personally tested these new binoculars first hand, I’m told their optical system with specially developed lens compensation create images that are rich in contrast, sharply contoured and optimally attuned for in field use. This is demonstrated via their improved field of view of up to 136m/1000m. Light and ergonomically designed they also feature comfortable, centre focus wheel, dioptre compensation for the ultimate in sharpness and come with a 10-year warranty.

The new Kahles Helia S 42 will be available here in Australia through your local gun shop around late April and will retail for around $2090.00 for the 8 x 42’s and $2190.00 for the 10 x 42’s. Keep an eye out for a full review on these binoculars in an up-and-coming issue by our tech guru Uncle Nick. In the mean-time for further details ask at your local Kahles reseller or visit www.kahles.at/en
