Resident's guns confiscated for acting in self defence

In a stunning display of how our laws exhibit no discretion for the benefit of a LAFO, the NSW Police have confiscated the legally owned firearms from a resident who presented a knife-wielding intruder with the muzzle of a rifle (which we have heard was unloaded) in order to apprehend the home invader and get him arrested.

The incident and the resultant police actions were reported in Blair Thompson’s Border Mail article last week. Detective Inspector Woodward said “it was hard to tell people what to do when confronted with such a situation, but urged them to call Triple-0 as soon as possible.”

Well that’s just Jim-dandy, DI Woodward, but how about something like this. “Use whatever means you deem necessary at the time to protect the lives of yourself and your family. Then call Triple-0.”

Remember that old saying, “When seconds count the police are only minutes away.”

We really do have things arse-about in our country these days.
