Wide media coverage has been attracted to the $250,000 donation by James Packer to the Katter Australian Party bid to win several seats in the upcoming queensland State Election. A recent article in The Australian gives a relatively unbiased account.
While Katter acknowledges his policy on gambling does not line up with Packer’s intentions, he maintains that Packer’s donation signals that he supports the KAP’s intent to the right thing by the country.
