OPINION: The Adler is a Trojan Horse

This whole Adler issue is not about Nioa importing one legal A-class firearm; it is about how our beloved Governments go about screwing us by stealth. Do you have a lever-action .30-30, or do any of your mates? Or perchance an old Browning trombone action .22? This is about Governments, Police and the media getting together and doing a pre-ordained, thoroughly pre-planned evil job on licensed firearm owners.

I frankly don’t give a toss about Adlers, they are just not my cup of tea in firearms, but under the law as it stands, they can be legally owned by Class A licence holders – right now. But our masters are using it as a Trojan horse to punish us with broader legislative change. It is iniquitous and thoroughly  disingenuous and dishonest.

It is  a crying shame that I have not one lever or pump action firearm in my bulging safe, apart from a .22 single-shot BSA International target rifle that just happens to be actuated by a lever. But if the Governments’ and Police’s proposed new laws under the re-vamped NFA come in, it will simply be a matter of time before I am deprived of it.

I think that many lawful shooters will go to gaol over this one, if their registries send them notice to hand in their levers and pumps. Now Governments have always denied that long arm registries were  designed to facilitate eventual confiscation, but let’s see how this pans out. It will become a civil disobedience issue and won’t the Gubmint love to lock up 100,000 of its most law-abiding who get in the way of their push to alleviate their consciences over terrorists getting hold of some guns using antiquated technology – yep, that’s really on the cards, NOT.

I will share with you all some quotes from one of America’s early environmentalists, a free thinker who harmed no one, but was gaoled for his beliefs and actions, one David Henry Thoreau.

“Disobedience is the true foundation of liberty. The obedient must be slaves.”

“If the machine of government is of such a nature that it requires you to be the agent of injustice to another, then, I say, break the law.”

“The government is best which governs least”

“If I knew for a certainty that a man was coming to my house with the conscious design of doing me good, I should run for my life.”

“Under a government that imprisons me unjustly, the true place for a just man is also a prison”

“How does it become a man to behave towards the American (read Australian – ed) Government today? I answer, that he cannot without disgrace be associated with it.”

“It is not desirable to cultivate a respect for the law, so much as for the right.”

“Justice is sweet and musical; but injustice is harsh and discordant.”

If we are charitable to the architects of this impending NFA, we could perhaps see the purchase of new firearms under these new categories become illegal for Cat A LAFOs, while existing stocks in the hands of LAFOs may be permitted to be held, the agenda being to make disposal of those arms for their true value to other same-category shooters impossible in the future. Government may do this so they don’t have to gaol thousands of their most law-abiding people because they made them criminals at the stroke of a pen, when they came to confiscate your property.

Even if that becomes the case, that situation is still iniquitous, flying in the face of natural justice and treating us all just like criminals in waiting.

And guess what, shooters. We all became criminals in waiting when we registered our firearms. Take a look at what happened to law-abiding gun owners in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. The police, backed by the National Guard, went house to house disarming those good people, who then became helpless in the face of lawless looters and armed criminals. Do you think I am drawing a long bow? Think for a while.

It is time to have a good hard think and galvanise as a community and culture; and the easiest way to do so is to join a political party who will fight for your existence as a LAFO. Nationally, the only party that will do so is The Shooters and Fisher’s Party. Below is a statement from TSFP Victoria.

July 25 at 11:46pm

We’ve just received breaking news this evening that the Federal Government, specifically Minister Keenan, has temporarily blocked the importation of the Adler pending the outcome of the review on the National Firearms Agreement (NFA).

This is totally unacceptable. The licensed and law abiding shooters of this country have lined up for something that is legal and satisfies every test that the legislation has.

This is clearly the beginning of a concerted effort to punish us yet again for the actions of an unlicensed criminal in the pretence of public safety.

We have to send a message to the major parties and punish them at every election until we have SFP representatives in every state and with the balance of power.

We have a federal election shortly and now is the time to join the SFP and get ourselves in the best possible place to deliver one or more SFP senators to ensure that we have a voice in the parliament. This is particularly critical as any changes to the NFA will happen in the federal arena, and federal representation for shooters is the only chance we have to have a voice.

The SFP needs to become a spanner in the works of every state government and stand up for our rights. Clearly the major parties do not care about us. Any shooter that votes anything else but SFP in the upper houses (if they have one) is just making sure they lose their and your firearms. It’s become that simple.

This has the potential to be a bigger shafting than 1996. We absolutely must fight this to the death.

Please take a moment to join SFP today as we are only as strong as the support we have.

Now, shooters, the ball is in our court, but we are batting blind, uphill with one hand behind our backs against a secretive, scheming Government. You all must write to federal and state MPs, the Prime Minister, Attorney General and other relevant “representatives” to tell them how you feel about what’s coming and how this action is uniting and galvanising licensed shooters as a force to be reckoned with.

Let’s see if the Prime Minister has the bottle to follow through  with the unjust criminalisation of a significant portion of the most law-abiding sector of Australian society.
